We at vacationsmela.com try to resolve the fight as quickly and silently as possible, and thus we usually request the customer to reach out to us in order to clear any form of misunderstanding. However, if that does not happen and the fight goes beyond our control then there are two ways to solve it!

  • Governing Law Claims - Out here it is declared that the Terms and Conditions and the rights of the parties should be governed in accordance with the laws of the state of New York, USA.
  • Mandatory Arbitration - Arbitration is much informal as compared to a case in the court. Even though it is way more informal, an arbitrator can award the same damages and relief as a court. A very important thing to note is that all claims brought against the company must be resolved in accordance with this “Resolution of Disputes” Those that are not brought in accordance to “Resolution of Disputes” will be considered void. Good news for the company - if the claim is not in accordance to “Resolution of Disputes” section, the vacationsmela.com can take from the clients attorney's fees and recur costs up to $1000. However, this can happen only when the other party has been notified in writing about the wrongly filed claim, and yet has not withdrawn the claim ASAP.

4) International Travel

An important part about International Travel is that the provisions of the Montreal Convention and the Warsaw Convention will be applicable to them. These conventions in most cases limits the liability of carriers to passengers for death or personal injury Apart from the above, passengers travelling international should carry all the required documents. These documents are not only meant for passports and visas, but others as well.

5) Check-in Policy

Every airline has a different requirement for check-in policy. So, to make things easier one should verify their check-in requirements prior to their flight. In terms of domestic flights - one should find out about the check-in 90 minutes before the flight, and in terms of international flights one should find out about the check-in 3 hours before the flight departs.

6) Baggage policy and fees

If one carries excess baggage then a fee will need to be paid. Hence, travelling light is the best option! The baggage fee can range from $15 up to $ 200 or more. The fee has to be paid directly to the airline.

7) Overbooking of flights

Situations can arise when the airline flights may be overbooked, and a seat may not be available on a flight for which the traveller already has a confirmed booking. This can create quite a chaos, and every airline has a different way of dealing with this situation

8) Prices

The prices on the website can change at any time, and the passenger doesn’t necessarily get prior notice. An airfare is only guaranteed with the ticket has already been purchased. Otherwise, it may change at any time!

9) Cancellation and Refund Policy

If one cancels the ticket within a span of 24 hours then a full refund can be provided. In case one feels that they want to cancel their ticket, then they can simply call us and we will assist you on the process. However, with the refund a certain fee may also have to be paid. The refund process can be a complicated affair and it may take quite some time for the refund to get through. Once a passenger gives their cancellation request - then an email will be given form our side, saying that the request has been processed.

10) Unaccompanied Minors

In order to make things safe, each airline has a different way of dealing with minors who are 16 and below and are travelling alone. In case the minor is travelling without supervision then-

  • Some airlines may forbid it, and not allow the minor to travel alone
  • Airlines may allow the minor to travel only on non-stop flights
  • And some airlines ask for an additional fee in case the minor travels alone
